A Problem
Posted January 11, 2008 by mattknappCategories: ponderings
I have just now begun to face a problem that could pose difficulties in finding job as an ordained Youth Minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Problem:
There aren’t many churches looking to hire ordained Youth Ministers. The biggest reason: they can’t afford it. And the churches that can budget for it tend to look for men and women with more experience than I have.
Solutions:
(1) Find a different career (yeah right).
(2) Don’t get ordained (on the fence with this one, but leaning “yeah right”).
(3) Take a salary less than the minimums set up by the church’s presbytery (most churches won’t ask you if this is even an option).
(4) Become an Associate Pastor in some other capacity (not really feeling called to this option).
(5) Don’t freak out… trust God (I am going to go with this one).
The “Take it Back” Promise and More Like It…

So you know when politicians always promise to “take back” something or “change” something or when they say they are “tired” of certain conditions? It seems like everybody always promises those each election. My question is how come these promises get made at every election? Somebody should tell the politicians to err… stop that… and actually change something.

This guy is an english teacher that moonlights as a comedian… he is amazing. This is his cleanest act, but they are all amazing.
